Z-Morh Tunnel to be completed by July 2023

The 6.5 km Z-Morh Tunnel, part of a strategic project and the first step toward ensuring year-round connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh, is progressing quickly and will be completed ahead of schedule in July 2023. Officials from the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) and APCO Infratech, the companies in charge of the tunnel work, said that the tunnel would ensure all-weather connectivity between Kashmir and the famous tourist destination, Sonamarg, which is usually closed during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanches.
