Jammu and Srinagar becomes smart under "Naya J&K"

In the past three years, the "Smart City Mission" in Jammu and Srinagar has approved over 276 initiatives to develop these cities into thriving urban centres with all the amenities.

These initiatives are intended to build urban infrastructure, enhance city services, public aesthetics, convenience of living, and give residents of "Naya Jammu and Kashmir" a clean and sustainable environment.

The transformation of Jammu and Srinagar into "Smart Cities" from heavily populated, underdeveloped urban areas is yet another accomplishment of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which "bit the bullet" on August 5, 2019, and ended the region's 70-year-long so-called special status.
