First inter-modal digital TIR-based transport from India to Iran flagged off

The first intermodal digital TIR-based pilot transport along the INSTC corridor from India to Iran was flagged off from Nhava Sheva. The International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), aims to shorten the time it takes for EXIM (Export-Import) cargo to access the Central Asian markets and arrive in Russia and Europe.

The commercial transit hub for the area, notably Central Asia, is the Chabahar Port, which was created with Indian assistance. In collaboration with the Iranian government, India is taking part in the construction of the first phase of the Shahid Beheshti Terminal at Chabahar Port. The TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers, or International Road Transports) system contributes significantly to the development of regional economic systems by promoting cross-border trade.
