JSW Steel posts 22 per cent rise in crude steel production

JSW Steel reported a 22 per cent increase in crude steel production to 1.6 million tonne in August of this year. In the previous month, the private steel major produced 1.3 million tonne. The production of flat products in the previous month was 1.2 million tonnes, which was higher than the 8.99 lakh tonnes in August 2021. Long product volume increased by 25 per cent to 375,000 tonne in the month under review, compared to 301,000 tonne in the same month last year. Due to a lack of iron ore in both Karnataka and Odisha, average capacity utilisation was reported to be 87.4 per cent.
