Bangladesh approves Cumilla-Brahmanbaria upgradation

The project to convert the Cumilla (Mainamati)–Brahmanbaria (Dharkhar) National Highway into four lanes was approved by the Bangladesh government's Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The Indian Line of Credit (LOC) will contribute Taka 28.10 billion of the project's total cost of Taka 71.88 billion. By June 2026, the project will be put into action by the Roads and Highways Department under the Road Transport and Highways Division. The Sylhet and Chattogram regions would become significant commercial hubs as a result of this project. After it is finished, the four-lane highway will improve the regional connection between Bangladesh and India. It will make Chattogram Port a hub for global trade and business.
