BMW denies plans for Punjab manufacturing plant

BMW, Germany's luxury carmaker, reportedly said that it has no plans to establish additional manufacturing operations in Punjab. The announcement has come a day after the Punjab government claimed that BMW had agreed to establish an auto part manufacturing facility in the state. According to Punjab, the decision was made during Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's visit to BMW headquarters in Germany, as per reports. BMW Group is firmly committed to its Indian operations, with a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Pune, a training centre in Gurgaon NCR, and a well-developed dealer network across major metropolitan areas of the country, according to sources, but has no plans for setting up additional manufacturing operations in Punjab.
