Engie won 200 MW at Rs 2.50 kWh, while Blupine won 120 MW at Rs 2.49 kWh. Tata Power won 300 MW at Rs 2.65 per kWh. UPC Renewables won 130 MW of the 280 MW quoted capacity at Rs. 2.66 kWh.
The discovered tariff of Rs 2.49 kWh is 8% higher than the discovered bid of Rs 2.30 kWh in GUVNL's auction to develop 500 MW of solar projects with a greenshoe option of up to 500 MW. The winners were Aditya Birla, Hinduja Renewables Energy, and SJVN. In GUVNL's solar auction, the lowest price ever discovered was Rs 1.99 kWh in December 2020 for 500 MW of solar projects. NTPC, Torrent Power, Al Jomaih Energy and Water Company, and Aditya Renwables all quoted this tariff.
GUVNL intends to purchase solar power to meet its renewable power purchase obligation (RPPO) and distribution company requirements.
The tender was publicised in July of this year.
The tender stated that only commercially established and operational technologies could be used to reduce technology risk and ensure project completion on time. Construction projects that did not have a PPA with an existing buyer were also eligible to participate in the tender.
Solar projects will be permitted in existing wind farms that are already connected to the grid, provided that spare capacity for renewable energy integration is available at the corresponding Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation substation.
The project's minimum capacity should be 25 MW.
The project should be designed to provide energy on the GETCO outskirts. The project's grid interconnection with the state transmission utility or central transmission utility substation can be accomplished directly via a dedicated line or a pooling substation of an existing wind farm.
GUVNL has issued tenders for.15 GW of solar projects, according to Mercom's India Solar Tender Tracker.
