CM Shinde assures timely completion of Mumbai Coastal Road
Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis this week inspected the progress of the project as Brihanmumbai Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and additional commissioner (East Suburban) Ashwini Bhide made a presentation at the Priyadarshani Park (Nepean Sea Road) office of the project.
Shinde assured that this road will be completed within the stipulated time and the commute of Mumbaikars will shorten. Along with Fadnavis, he also inspected the underground tunnel, the interchange at the Haji Ali, and the Worli area.
The construction of the 10.58-km Mumbai Coastal Road between the Princess Street flyover and the south end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link consists of four-plus-four lane embankment roads, elevated roads, bridges and tunnels. The work began in October 2018 and the completion target is November 2023.
Besides cutting travel time and road congestion, this project is expected to create additional green belts by bringing about improvements in public transportation through a dedicated bus route.
