UP DISCOM tenders 10 MW/40 energy storage project

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has been granted permission by the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) to publish a tender for the installation of five battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a combined capacity of 10 MW/40 MWh in the state.

For 12 years, the project will be built, owned, operated, and transferred.

The winning bidder, UPPCL, and the state distribution business (DISCOM) will sign a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA).

At designated 132/33 kV substations, the land for the project will be made available to the developer on a lease or right-to-use basis.
