India added 13 GW more renewable energy capacity in 2021–22

According to a recent report by UN-Energy, India added 13.73 gigawatts (GW) of new renewable energy capacity in 2021–22, bringing its total installed capacity to 161.28 GW, with 64 GW now being implemented and 28 GW being tendered.

According to the "Energy Compact Progress Report" report presented at the EnergyNow SDG7 Action Forum, 13.5 million clean cooking LPG connections have been made available to households with women in India through the "Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0" initiative.

In addition, it stated that as of 2021, 111,400 people were engaged in the wind and solar energy sectors.

In addition, it was said that between 2005 and 2016, India's GDP emission intensity was reduced by 24%. India has pledged to reduce the GDP's emissions intensity by 45% from 2005 levels by 2030.
