Six land parcels for Chennai airport expansion identified

Chennai Airport Director, Dr Sharad Kumar, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and the TN Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) will reportedly conduct a joint survey of six land parcels for further expansion of Chennai Airport to meet the demand of 55 million passengers per annum (MPPA). This comes after the AAI requested that the Tamil Nadu government acquire 306 acres of land on the other side of the Adyar River for the construction of an international terminal and cargo terminal. According to reports, a meeting was recently held with TIDCO officials to discuss the availability of land for the airport expansion.
