Ramco’s Alathiyur facility wins an award

The International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM), India, has announced that the Alathiyur plant of Ramco Cements Ltd has won a ‘Gold Medal’ in the India Green Manufacturing Challenge 2021–22. The prize honours manufacturing companies that have consistently improved sustainability aspects at a specific production plant.

The Alathiyur facility was established in 1997 and is situated in Tamil Nadu’s Ariyalur District. It had a 0.9Mta capacity when it first started operating; today, it has a 3.05Mta capacity. The facility has additionally been honoured with the coveted ‘Four Leaves Award’ in the past for the ecologically friendly procedures Ramco Cements has implemented at the facility.
