New cement to aid construction sector with low-carbon goals

Almost 8 per cent of the world’s CO2 emissions are caused by the manufacturing of clinker for Portland cement. The use of less cement clinker in concrete, the careful use of byproduct materials from mining, agriculture, and industry, and the minimization of wastes through better construction techniques are all considered to be some of the primary ways to reduce the net carbon impact of concrete construction. Since LC3 is a multipurpose cement, no green field facility is necessary for its manufacture. It is simple to include into an established production system. Depending on the availability of clay, it is also approximately 25 per cent less expensive to create due to decreased energy requirements.
