FLSmidth leads with advanced carbonation technology

FLSmidth will take the helm of a new partnership to develop and implement carbonation technologies in the sector in an effort to significantly reduce CO2 emissions from the production of cement. World-class experts will collaborate with FLSmidth R&D engineers and experts from top universities, technology suppliers, and research organisations to address one of the largest challenges facing the cement industry with funding from the EU Commission. In addition to helping the industry meet its climate goals, the ability to recycle CO2 emissions and reabsorb them into aggregates or SCMs presents a tremendous financial opportunity for the sector, particularly for cement producers who must deal with the phase-out of carbon allowances and rising carbon taxes.
