Iranian cement sales increased 17 per cent in August

According to the Iranian Cement Association, the country’s cement demand climbed by 16.6 per cent to 4.98Mt in August 2022 from 4.27Mt in August 2021. Domestic cement production climbed by 2.7 per cent YoY from 4.79Mt to 4.92Mt in August 2022, while clinker production increased by 10.6 per cent YoY from 5.08Mt to 5.62Mt. In August 2022, Iran exported 0.79Mt of clinker, a 79.5 per cent increase over 0.44Mt in August 2021.

Cement shipments decreased from 0.32 million to 0.3 million tonnes as compared to the same period last year, a 6.3 per cent decrease.
