Mumbai’s Metro Line 2A, 7 clear designs & standards testing

According to an MMRDA spokesperson, the Mumbai Metro Line 2A (Dahisar to DN Nagar) and Line 7 (Dahisar East to Andheri East) have passed RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organisation) testing and will now go through signalling testing.

The RDSO clearance is a critical initial step in the commercialization of any Metro rail project.

The MMRDA, which is responsible for the construction of Metro Lines 2A and 7 as well as other Metro lines in the MMR except for the underground line 3 between Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ, was only able to hand over a 20-kilometer stretch between Aarey and Dhanukarwadi to the Maha Mumbai Metro Rail Operation Corporation (MMMOCL) in April.
