81.51% of entire BG network has been electrified by Indian Railways

Indian Railways has started an ambitious project to electrify the entirety of its broad gauge network, which will not only improve fuel efficiency and increase throughput while lowering fuel costs and conserving precious foreign money.

Indian Railways attained 851 Route Kilometres (RKMs) during the FY 2022–23 up till September 2022 as opposed to 562 RKMs during the equivalent period of FY 2021–22. It is 51.4% higher than the equivalent period's results from the prior year. 6500 RKMs is the number of RKMs that must be electrified throughout this fiscal year.

It is important to note that in 2021–2022 Indian Railways accomplished a record electrification of 6,366 RKMs. Prior to this, the highest electrification occurred in 2020–21 at 6,015 RKM.
