Goa plans Drone Park cum Hub at Tuem; invites EoIs

With ever-increasing usage of Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAVs), popularly known as drones, for various applications, the Goa government has invited expressions of interest to set up the Drone Park cum Hub at its electronic manufacturing cluster in Tuem in the taluka.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will chair crucial meeting this week where a presentation will be made by Kerala-based AutoMicroUAS Aerotech Pvt Ltd regarding the expression of interest. The hub will have a drone manufacturing plant, robotics, a research and development centre, drone forensic centre, training centre and placement cell.
The company claims expertise and experience in implementing drone-based applications in areas like tree counting, wildlife enumeration, monitoring of solid waste management, traffic management, surveillance in mining areas, disaster management and agriculture.
The Union government has undertaken a series of measures aimed at making India a global drone hub by 2030. The Drone Airspace Map was published on September 24 last year, opening up nearly 90% of Indian airspace as a green zone for drones flying at up to 400 feet.
