Ditch Witch unveils the PT37 plough model

The PT37, a dedicated plough with an optional trencher, reel carrier, and hydra-bore arrangement that was redesigned in response to customer feedback, has been presented by Ditch Witch.

“The PT37 is based on a proven vibratory plough model that has been the preferred choice of many contractors for decades and remains in high demand for fibre installation,” said Brant Kukuk, Ditch Witch compact equipment product manager. “It combines the simple design and operation that users want with the next-generation innovation.”

According to him, the gadget is a straightforward, small-but-powerful utility that's great for telecom and irrigation operations.

The PT37 is powered by a Yanmar diesel engine with 36.8 horsepower. Engine heat is designed to be pushed away from the operator for a more comfortable ride. Steel doors also protect the engine bay from tree damage by keeping debris out of the engine compartment. In a variety of conditions, the plough is designed to provide down pressure to maintain consistent ploughing up to 24 inches deep.

While operating, an adjustable side-facing seat allows the operator to see all four tyres and the plough box. According to the company, the PT37 is mostly mechanical and has a simplified control display. It also needs less maintenance because of the simplified exhaust cleaning and fewer grease points.

The machine has a small footprint and can scale down to 36 inches wide, allowing it to fit into small spaces. The tyres, which come in sizes of 23 or 26 inches, are less expensive than tracked machines and help to reduce the impact on yards. A dual-wheel configuration is available for added traction and stability.

According to Ditch Witch, the PT37 is intended for ease of use and storage. The foldable ROPS design allows users to park and store the machine on a trailer in garages.
