Housing sales expected to exceed 3.6 lakh units in 2022 in seven cities

Based on the momentum in house sales over the current holiday season and the first three quarters of this year, total sales in the country's top seven cities in 2022 are likely to exceed 3.6 lakh units.

The top seven cities—MMR, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru—are on track to surpass the previous milestone of 3.43 lakh units sold in 2014.

Housing sales and new launches in the January-September 2022 timeframe topped pre-COVID 2019 full-year numbers, with around 2.73 lakh units sold and 2.65 lakh units launched in 9M 2022.

Over the course of the year, more than 2.61 lakh units were sold, while new supply remained at 2.34 lakh units.
