Roads and transport experience most delays, says report

According to a government report, the road transport and highways sector have the most delayed projects with 262, followed by railways with 115 and the petroleum sector with 89.

In the road transport and highways sector, 262 of 835 projects are behind schedule. According to the most recent flash report on infrastructure projects for September 2022, 115 of 173 railway projects have been delayed, while 89 of 140 petroleum projects have been delayed.

The Infrastructure and Project Monitoring Division (IPMD) is tasked with monitoring central sector infrastructure projects worth $1.50 billion or more based on information provided by project implementing agencies on the Online Computerised Monitoring System (OCMS).
