Replacement of expansion joints on the Dholewal flyover begins

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has began work to replace the damaged expansion joints on one side of the Dholewal flyover on Link Road Ludhiana. Commuters were inconvenienced due to traffic jams as one of two lanes on one side of the flyover was closed for maintenance.

The project requires NHAI to replace the damaged expansion joints on the Bus Stand flyover, the Gill Road flyover, the Partap Chowk flyover, and the Dholewal flyover on Link Road. For a long time, the damaged expansion joints begged for attention.

According to Rahul Verma, a city-based road safety activist, the expansion joint replacement work began on one side of the Dholewal flyover, causing traffic jams. He claimed that no information about alternative routes had been shared with the public in advance of the project's start date.
