Seven expressways & flyovers worth INR 600 billion in Delhi

In 2023, Delhi will receive four revolutionary motorways that will aid with traffic in and around the National Capital. Three additional flyovers and underpasses are also being constructed. The national government is working on INR 600 billion worth of projects to address Delhi's traffic problems.

A brief about the four significant expressways:
Dwaraka Expressway: In order to reduce traffic bottlenecks at the Delhi-Haryana border, the Dwaraka Expressway is being developed. The 29 km long road is not far from Highway 48, which runs between Delhi and Jaipur. Construction on the eight-lane highway is expected to be finished by August 2023.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: The 1,300 km long Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will connect Delhi and Mumbai and minimise the travel time in half. This motorway will be connected to the eastern and western periphery motorways. Additionally, it would lessen traffic in Delhi and the NCR. From the Ashram underpass, a link road is also being built between Delhi and Mumbai.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will have 12 lanes on both, the 12 km section in Ghaziabad and the 14 km segment in Delhi. The 210 km road will eliminate four hours from the journey between Delhi and Dehradun. The government is also building the 75.6 km long Urban Extension Road 2, which would connect the IGI Airport to the Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi- Dwarka, and Delhi-Mumbai Expressways. Once this road is finished by the end of 2023, travellers won't have to go through Delhi to reach numerous other locations.

A brief about the three flyovers that will ease the traffic congestion:
Ashram Flyover: The Ashram Flyover and DND will be connected to alleviate traffic congestion. This will ease traffic at the Ashram and connect commuters from Ghaziabad to Noida. Once 70% of the work is finished, it will take three more months to finish it, which will shorten commuters' journey time.

Sarai Kale Khan Underpass: An underpass is being constructed close to Sarai Kale Khan. It will ease traffic on the ring road between ITO and Ashram. By October 2023, the project will be finished. Apsara Flyover: From the Apsara border to the overbridge in Anand Vihar, a flyover is being constructed. The completion date is projected to be December 2023.
