Construction of Bullet train continues in full swing

Work continues on the Mumbai-to-Ahmedabad Bullet train project. The pile work has been erected over a distance of 227.62 km, while the piers have been constructed over a distance of 126.44 km. Up until December 31, 2022, a total of 24.73 per cent of physical progress has been made, with Gujarat achieving 30.68 per cent and Maharashtra achieving 13.37 per cent. The 21.44 km of girders have been launched. At the Surat and Anand stations, 50 m rail slabs have already been cast.

The government has decided to operate Bullet trains on the 508.09 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor that connects the two financial centers in Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is most likely that the time required to complete the journey will be two hours and seven minutes. The train will make stops in Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati along the way.

Each direction is anticipated to see 17,900 passengers use the corridor each day. NHSRCL says that on the year of commissioning, the passengers will be ferried in 35 daily train trips made by 10 car configurations with 24 rakes. About 92,900 passengers are likely to use the system each day, according to NHSRCL. From 6 a.m. to midnight, passengers can board the train at intervals of 30 minutes.

It is anticipated that the bullet train will travel at 320 km per hour. At this time, the speed limit is 160 km per hour. There will be standard class, business class, and grand class on the high-speed train. Hiroshi Suzuki, Japan's Ambassador to India, went to Gujarat's Surat last month to check on the construction progress. He was happy with the ongoing development and also made an announcement regarding the developments on his Twitter account.

"The India-Japan flagship project is now making progress in full swing," Suzuki wrote on Twitter.
