Odisha inaugurates high grid substations worth INR 2.54 billion

Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, conducted a video conference to officially open five high- capacity grid substations worth INR 2.54 billion, which will improve the state’s infrastructure for power generation and transmission. In five districts, including Hinjilikatu in Ganjam, Kalimela in Malkangari, Birmaharajpur in Subarnapur, and Godisahi and Bahugram in Cuttack, new high capacity grid substations have been opened. The improvement and expansion of the power transmission infrastructure will help almost 2 lakh people in these four districts.

“To raise people's living standards, there is a need for reliable electricity. In light of this, the state government is paying particular attention to the growth of the transmission and distribution of power in the state, Naveen Patnaik said in his inauguration address. He also spoke to the need for constant electricity in the fields of agriculture, industry, and everyday life.

Additionally, he counselled the populace against wasting electricity and to use it carefully. Power grid expansion would assist Odisha in constructing a robust and resilient infrastructure for power transmission. About 185 extra high voltage grid sub-stations and 16,000 circuit kilometres of network are currently installed in the state.
