Jodhpur railway stn to be revamped at 4740million in 3 years

The NWR intends to transform it into a city centre and provide greater amenities for travellers, including elevators, lounges, executive lounges, and separate entry and exit gates. A sky walk will connect the concourse and foot overbridge to the new building. Under the capable leadership of general manager Vijay Sharma, the renovation work at Jodhpur station is moving forward quickly. The Rail Land Development Authority has given a Bengaluru-based construction business a letter of understanding for the project.

At the Jodhpur station, a multistory building has been proposed for construction. A 72-meter-wide concourse space with 32 new elevators and 16 new escalators will be part of the new station's multi- level parking structure, separate gates for arrival and departure, security checking area, and main station building. The sky walk will be connected to the foot overbridges at the station, according to Captain Shashi Kiran, NWR's head public relations officer.

The station will also contain a baby food area, an executive waiting room, retail stalls, restrooms, and a variety of other contemporary passenger amenities. Through a variety of architectural features and motifs, including yellow stone lattice work, arches, domes, and chhatri, among others, the complete restoration of Jodhpur station will reflect the rich tradition of Suryanagari.
