Vizianagaram aims to complete housing units by March 2023

The state government has given the Vizianagaram district officials a deadline of March 22, Ugadi, to finish building 34,505 housing units.

While the remaining units are still under construction, 18,320 of them have already had their construction completed. The beneficiaries have accelerated the task because there are only about two months until Ugadi.

Officials from the Vizianagaram district claim that Vizianagaram has been authorised to build 77,205 housing units.

A total of 40,500 units are owned by specific home owners or sites. The Jagananna Housing Colonies project is developing the remaining 36,600 units in 651 different layouts in the region.

Financial aid totaling 0.18 million is provided to each beneficiary. Women in self-help groups receive an additional grant of Rs 35,000 apiece. This is in addition to the free land that has been given.

Infrastructure for these layouts was built at a cost of 1,620 million by the housing corporation alone, with additional funding coming from the energy, rural water supply, panchayat raj, and other line departments.

Permanent infrastructure development is taking place in Roads, sewers, water supply, power, underground internet cables, etc. are all included in the YSR Jagananna Colonies.
