Madhya Pradesh will soon have country's longest railway viaduct

A viaduct is a long bridge of some kind, or a chain of long bridges, that allows trains to cross over rivers, roads, and valleys.

According to some estimates, work on the Madhya Pradesh railway viaduct is expected to be finished by 2024.

The Ministry of Railways claims that by building this viaduct, Singrauli to Bina traffic congestion will be reduced for both freight and passenger trains.

The operation of both passenger and freight trains will be improved by this initiative.

There will be 33.37 km of the project. It has already undergone a 54% physical treatment. The Ministry of Railways posted a video in which the project's estimated cost is Rs 12.48 billion.

The viaduct will be three times longer than the one in Kerala.

The bridge will cross Katni Yard to link with the Bina line and will be used for both passenger and freight trains. Eight rail-over bridges on two active rail lines will be part of the project. Six additional bridges that will cross rivers will also be erected as part of the viaduct in addition to this one.
