The second generation leads the way ahead

When her father PS Patel, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of PSP Projects asked her to join the company, she wanted to be on-site and start from the scratch. Not the easiest decision for a father considering that not many women chose working at construction sites. But for Pooja Patel, Executive Director, PSP Projects, a six to eight months experience on site was what she wanted to develop a better understanding about work on-site. “The fieldwork gave me exposure in execution and to the unseen challenges, which I would not have realised sitting in the office. A key thing is that if you want to do good things on paper, you need to have that experience on site,” she believes. Having said that, of the nine years that she has been working, seven years has been on the site. Patel, in her confident and audacious tone, elaborates on her overall experience and how the second generation is focusing on the company’s growth in a virtual conversation with SHRIYAL SETHUMADHAVAN.
