DDC Chairman Kathua Col Mahan Singh (Retired) has begun construction of a 5.5-kilometer-long PMGSY road at a cost of approximately Rs 80 million, providing significant relief to the people of Hutt Mashka's remote region.The road, which will be built by PMGSY Roads Division Kathua under Phase III (Batch 1st) Scheme from Khajura (Dalow) to Mashka (upto NHPC Complex) via Village Hutt in the District's Sheetal Nagar (Bhoond) block, will meet a long-standing demand of the people of this remote region and provide a vital road link between J&K and the Himachal Pradesh district of Chamba.
Col Mahan, speaking on the occasion, stated that this road is critical for development. This road link, he says, will also help tourism because the region opposite Dalhousie has a lot of potential for development. He expressed his satisfaction with the region's rapid development over the last two years.
“I believe on inclusiveness and public participation in the process of development and District Development Council Kathua is committed to change the lives of people in the region through sustainable development and employment generation,” the DDC Chairman added.
DDC Chairman, who is also a local DDC Councilor, Sarpanch Draman, Sarpanch Hutt, Soni Mohd, Ajay Kotwal, prominent residents, PMGSY AEE Basohli and staff, and contractor Tilak Singh were also present.
