Centre planning phase 2 of specialty steel PLI scheme

A second iteration of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for specialty steel, which will encompass steel used in some autos and defence equipment, is scheduled to be introduced by the government.

The Center had given the specialty steel PLI 63,220 million. Under the first round of the scheme, 67 proposals from 30 organisations have so far been chosen. By the end of this month, contracts should be finalised for these.
