AMC sealed over 4,500 properties in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation sealed 4,564 properties after the owners fell behind on their property tax payments.

The tax and revenue department sealed 1,761 properties in the west zone, the most properties sealed by zone. According to AMC, 720 properties in the east zone and 739 in the north west zone have been sealed.

The property tax brought in Rs 148.3 million for the AMC. The civic body has collected Rs 366.7 million in property tax in the last four days.

The civic body has announced a tax interest rebate scheme under which if property owners who have not paid taxes for two decades pay the entire tax amount, the civic body will waive the entire interest amount.

According to the statement, the department sealed 16,333 properties between April 1, 2022 and January 12, 2023, and the sealing campaign will continue in the coming months.
