Volvo and Eicher products acknowledged at the 14th Apollo CE Awards

VE Commercial Vehicles - A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Joint Venture has won six prestigious awards for its modern range of vehicles in India, all of which are backed by smart industry-leading solutions at the recently concluded Apollo CV awards 2023. The awards included the ICV Cargo Carrier of the Year for Eicher Pro 3018, M&HCV Tipper of the Year for Volvo FMX 460 8X4 Range, Coach of the Year for Eicher Intercity Coach 13.5m, Special Application CV of the Year for Eicher Pro 6028T Boom Pump, Coach of the Year (Premium Category) for VOLVO 9600-seater and sleeper coach plus a special recognition for VOLVO FM 420 4X2 LNG tractor head.

The Eicher Pro 3018 is a 17.75t GVW truck that raises the bar for payload, performance and profitability in its category. The product is becoming an important part of the E-commerce supply chains across the country. The Eicher 13.5m Intercity Coach is India’s first OEM-built front engine intercity seater sleeper coach that addresses the demand for a mid-premium HD bus for intercity travel. This is also the first OEM-built Front Engine Coach with a seater and sleeper configuration. Eicher Pro 6028T Boom Pump is built on Eicher’s next-generation 28t GVW Tipper platform. With the increased power of 260HP and higher torque output of 1000 Nm, the Eicher Pro 6028T Boom Pump is set to play its role in various infrastructure products across the country.

Volvo 9600 coach the flagship product from Volvo Buses, is making bus travel aspirational and attractive for the masses. The 15-meter-long intercity bus provides an ultra-premium travel experience to the passengers with all modern features like automotive Grade TV LED TV, emergency panic buttons, rear-view camera, and roof heating, merging aesthetics with comfort. Available in both sleeper and seater versions, the bus can accommodate 55 seated passengers, one driver, and one co-driver alongside 40 inberths. It is also available with First Class luxury seating for an exclusive travel experience.

The Volvo LNG solution is based on the unique Diesel-cycle technology that provides a 15-20% improvement in fuel economy over Petrol or Otto-cycle technologies.

The 14th edition of the Apollo CV Awards 2023 was held at ITC Grand Central, Parel, in Mumbai, in the presence of senior leaders from all the major CV OEMS. The jury panel consisted of eminent personalities from the field of automobiles, media and consulting.
