Hyundai's largest capacity wheel loader unveiled at ConExpo

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas revealed the HL985A, a wheel loader with a standard 9.1- cubic yard bucket capacity, as one of the new products at ConExpo-ConAgg 2023. The HL985A wheel loader from Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas is the company's largest-capacity model. The loader features a standard 9.1 cubic yard bucket capacity for usage in high-production tasks including quarrying, moving large volumes of material, and other mass-volume material handling.

Because it can fill one of our HA30 articulated dump trucks with two bucket loads, the HL985A is known as a "true two-pass" wheel loader, according to Joe Turnage, senior product manager at Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. With the HL985A, the Hyundai wheel loader series now has models to meet the requirements of every significant wheel loader application, according to Turnage. In addition, the new Hyundai HL985A offers the power, performance, fuel efficiency, operator safety, and comfort that successful contractors have come to expect from Hyundai in every A Series wheel loader model.

The 430-horsepower Cummins X12 performance series engine and ZF 5 transmission power the HL985A to deliver the most power and torque. Heavy-duty ZF axles with wet outboard brakes and coolers are included as standard. Because there is no need for recurring shutdowns, clients enjoy that the A Series wheel loaders do not employ exhaust gas recirculation. A three-piece bolt-on cutting edge and an auto-level feature are standard on the bucket of the HL985A to assist reduce bucket spilling. A large counterbalance improves stability.
