DMRC lowest bidder for Mumbai Metro Line 3

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was chosen as the lowest bidder to run and maintain the 27 stations along the 33.5 km of Line 3 of the Mumbai Metro, which runs from Aarey to Cuffe Parade in the western city.

The management of metro train operations and safety, revenue collection, and contract management will be the main tasks covered by this contract. The agreement will remain in effect for ten years.

"Delhi Metro, with its experience of operating and maintaining the largest Metro system in the Indian subcontinent in the National Capital Region (NCR), will be able to extend the appropriate support to the Mumbai Metro corridor, given that the city of Mumbai is also highly populated and experiences comparable urban challenges to Delhi," said Anuj Dayal, principal executive director, DMRC.

Line 3 is now being construction, and by the end of the year, it should be mostly operational.
