9 specialised vehicles procured by Trichy Corp for road maintenance

Nine specialised vehicles have been purchased by Trichy Corporation to clean roads, drains, and to unclog subterranean drainage sewers. At the corporation's main office, municipal administration minister K N Nehru gave the vehicles their official commission. According to officials, as more areas of the city gradually come under the UGD network, there will be a greater demand for jet-rodder vehicles to clear sewage obstructions brought on by solid waste disposal.

The local body purchased five vans with micro jet-rodder machines on board, each with a 3,000 liter storage capacity, for a total of Rs 170 million utilising the 15 th central budget because to the increase in UGD connections for residential and commercial premises. The vehicles can be driven on curvy roads that are inaccessible to jet-rodder trucks.

Similarly, the corporation spent Rs 19 million of the special funds designated for raising the city's ambient air quality level to purchase four open drain desilting vehicles and one mini-road sweeper.

According to officials, the trucks can quickly remove the solid trash by cleaning out sewers and crooked roads. The civic organisation already has two autonomous road sweepers for sweeping roadways used by buses.

Nehru had previously dedicated sanitary facilities that cost Rs 12 million to build in Gandhipuram, Bharathi Nagar, Kora Street, and Uyyakondan Thirumalai. According to health officials, diapers and sanitary napkins can be safely disposed of in all sanitary complexes' incinerators.
