MSEDCL releases tender for 615 MW Solar Power Projects

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) releases a tender for the development of solar projects with a 615 MW capacity. 100 MW at Aurangabad-II, 76 MW and 105 MW in Aurangabad-III, 143 MW in Pune, and 191 MW in the Konkan region make up the 615 MW cumulative capacities.

In Maharashtra, the projects would be built on land that belongs to the government. For the projects, the ceiling rate has been set at Rs 3.20/kWh. The deadline for submission of proposals is May 8. The bids start the same day as well. The project's EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) is Rs 100,000/MW.

Within 30 days of the issue of the work order, the selected bidder must submit a performance bank guarantee (valid for fourteen months from the effective date) of Rs 500,000/MW. The power purchase agreement (PPA), which will be signed within a month of the Letter of Award (LoA) being issued, will be in effect for 25 years as of the proposed or new solar power projects' commercial operation date.

Avaada Energy, a renewable energy company based in Mumbai, has won a 560 MWdc solar power project via which it would provide MSEDCL with green electricity. Additionally, MSEDCL has published a request for proposals (RFP) for the e-reverse auction purchase of 88 MW (AC) of solar electricity from projects to be developed in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra.
