NHAI seeks bids for Rs. 3935 crore elevated corridor project in Chennai

National Highways Authority Of India (NHAI) has published Construction Of A New Double-Tier 4-Lane Elevated Corridor From Chennai Port To Maduravoyal In Chennai District from km 0.342 to km 20.223 on EPC Mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana in the State of Tamil Nadu. The entire project has been divided into four packages:

Package-I (km 0.342 to Km 4.604) - Rs 9,87,04,00,000

Package-II (km 4.604 to Km 9.700) - Rs 11,79,04,00,000

Package-III (km 9.700 to Km 14.185) - Rs 9,46,37,00,000

Package-IV (km 14.185 to Km 20.223) - Rs 8,23,09,00,000

This 19.881-km, 4-lane access-controlled highway in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with a route alignment along the Cooum River and NH-4 is estimated to cost Rs 3935,540,000, or Rs 3935 crore. Its foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2022. This expressway will have seven on-ramps for entry and six off-ramps for exit, and its design capacity is to handle 40,000 passenger cars a day.
