PGCIL receives Global Gold Award for their CSR efforts

The Green Organisation has awarded the Global Gold Award to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), a Maharatna CPSU of the Indian Ministry of Power. The award was presented at Miami, USA, Green World Awards 2023 event. On behalf of the company, Dr VK Singh, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID, accepted the honour.

The acknowledgment of POWERGRID's CSR effort for enhancing agricultural productivity and rural livelihood in 10 villages of Jaipatna Block of Kalahandi District in Odisha through better crop management practises, community involvement, and management of watersheds. This project, which will focus on farmers for 60 months, was launched in late October 2019 and has a withdrawal strategy to maintain its sustainability. POWERGRID emphasises its participation in numerous CSR initiatives for the environment and community.

Power Grid provides attention to community participation through effective collaboration, capacity building, and sustainability in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Power Grid has a well-defined and customised Exit Policy for its CSR projects.
