No plans to maintain ALMM for players in renewable energy
There are currently no plans to expand the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) of solar photovoltaic modules. The comments were delivered by Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), at the yearly "Mercom India Renewables Summit 2023" in the capital.In response to a query regarding future plans for the ALMM, he stated, "ALMM was simply delayed for a year. We are pretty clear that we won't extend it as of right now.
The ALMM was previously extended by one year to March 2024 despite worries from the industry regarding the supply chain and availability of raw materials. To increase home manufacturing, ALMM was introduced.
The ministry regularly engages with industry stakeholders and actively addresses their concerns with regard to projects. In response to a query on whether the ancillary and downstream industries should be covered by the production-linked incentive programme for the manufacture of solar modules.
