For Odisha metro rail project, DMRC will prepare the DPR

The Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Cuttack, and Puri metro network's detailed project report (DPR) and master plan are being produced by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) with guidance from and support from the Odisha Rail Infrastructure Development Limited (ORIDL), a partnership between the state of Odisha and the Ministry of Railways. The authorities have embraced the challenge while keeping in mind the criteria established by the biggest metro systems in the world. However, creating the DPR in a short amount of time would be a huge undertaking.

In the initial phase, the DPR would be prepared for the route from Trishulia to Biju Patnaik International Airport. The metro rail project would include coverage for the Master Canteen, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Patia, Raghunathpur, and Nandankanan to Trishulia regions. On April 24, 2023, Balwant Singh, vice-chairman of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), presided over a high-level meeting at which the choices were finalised. A thorough presentation was given on a number of subjects, such as metro alignment, the appropriate necessity for multi-agency integration, and others.
