NTPC marks 1st Overseas Capacity Addition With Bangladesh Power Plant

NTPC has begun its first overseas capacity addition in Bangladesh. The Group recently added Unit-1, with a capacity of 660 MW, to the 1320 MW (2x660) Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) in Rampal, Mongla, Bagerhat, Bangladesh. The new addition brings NTPC's installed capacity to 72304 MW.

This demonstrates the company's global reach and commitment to providing dependable, long-term power. The project was carried out in partnership with the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Pvt Ltd. (BIFPCL), an NTPC foreign joint venture company.

Unit 1 of MSTPP has been included in the NTPC Group's installed and commercial capacity after obtaining the necessary norms and approvals. The project's successful completion demonstrates NTPC's commitment to innovation and excellence in every project it undertakes.
