Ghaziabad Priority Section soon to commence operations
2023-05-08
The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project in Ghaziabad's 17 km priority portion is almost finished, and work has begun to get all essential approvals before it becomes fully operational.
NCR Transport Corporation, the organisation in charge of carrying out the project, has started the procedure for requesting inspections and permissions from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
This priority portion is a part of an 82-km stretch of high-speed rail that connects Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Delhi. In June 2023, this portion is anticipated to be finished.
The section's trail runs are almost finished, and continued testing is taking place. In addition, the system is ready to start operating for passengers, subject to CMRS approval and inspection.
Finishing work is presently taking place after the civil construction work for the five stops in the 17 km route was finished. The first test run was started by NCRTC in January, and trials started in March.
Stations on the fully elevated priority section may be found in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad City, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. Three additional RRTS stations in the Ghaziabad district will open along the 82 km stretch at Muradnagar, Modinagar (North), and Modinagar (South).
