PMC provided litres of treated sewage water for construction

In the previous year, Pune Municipal Corporation delivered 16,714 tankers to various stakeholders, providing 160 million litres of treated sewage water for construction works. The water has been examined and is OK for this use. Last year, the solid waste department gave instructions to builders and contractors to utilise treated sewage water. Aniruddha Pawaskar, the chief superintendent engineer of the water supply division, claimed that 25 persons had been penalised for using potable water for things like vehicle washing.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has given contractors and builders access to 160 million litres of cleaned sewage water for use in construction over the past year.

The landscaping department and contractors who build roads and buildings were among the groups advised by the solid waste department to utilise treated sewage water last year.
