Centre fast tracks data integration plan

With as many as 14 social sector ministries, including Health and Panchayati Raj, integrating their data on the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) platform, the center's primary data integration project, which aims to establish an integrated infrastructure to cut logistic costs, has gained momentum. The NMP platform, which was introduced in 2021, aims to establish not only an integrated infrastructure but also a technology-supported instrument for successful infrastructure development in the nation.

The information pertaining to these ministries' infrastructure assets has reportedly been mapped on NMP, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Primary and secondary schools, colleges, primary health centres, district hospitals, health sub-centers, public restrooms, landfills, Anganwadi centres, fair price stores, Amrit samovar locations, and dairy facilities are all included in this data.

The Network Planning Group (NPG) oversees all logistics and connectivity infrastructure projects funded by the PM GatiShakti NMP and totaling more than $5 billion.

According to the Union Ministry of Commerce, each of these 14 Ministries'/Departments' own portals has been created and integrated with the NMP at the back end. As part of Mission Poshan 2.0, the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has also created the Poshan Tracker smartphone app to collect information about Anganwadi Centres (AWC). The gathered information is geo-tagged and connected to the NMP platform using an API.
