Haryana roads, bridges approved by centre for Rs 8.74 bn

Dushyant Chautala Deputy Chief Minister Haryana announced that 11 roads and as many bridges in the state will be widened and strengthened at a cost of approximately Rs 8.74 billion under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The deputy CM who is also in charge of public works declared that highways in the state will be fortified and widened as needed adding that the road from Surewala Mod to the Punjab-Haryana border in the Hisar district would be widened.

From Panipat to Safidon, the Panipat-Safidon-Jind route will have four lanes and from Safidon to Jind it will be 10 m wide. This 65 km long route will cost about Rs 1.85 billion to construct. He stated that approximately Rs 440 million would be used to strengthen and widen an 18 km stretch of road in the Jind area stretching from Uchana to Litani by 7 m.

He added that three bridges on the Hansi-Tosham route have been approved for expanding and strengthening at a cost of an estimated Rs 600 million and that the road will be made four lanes up to the border of the Hisar district. The Kalanwali-Dabwali Road and the Dabwali-Kalanwali Road via Desujodha will begin to be widened and strengthened. He added that Dadri-Bond and Dadri-Chirya roads would also be widened.

The Karnal-Kachhwa-Sambali-Kaul Road, which has two bridges on it will also be enlarged and strengthened according to the deputy CM. According to him, approval has also been given for the two bridges on the Assandh-Kaithal route in the Karnal district to be strengthened and widened. He said that the four-lane expanded Kaithal-Patiala State Highway in the Kaithal district will cost Rs 129 crore.

The route from Surewala Mor in the Hisar district to the Punjab-Haryana border via Tohana according to Dushyant will be enlarged to 10 m (two-lane). According to him it will cost approximately Rs 7.25 billion to widen and strengthen 11 highways and 11 bridges while Rs 1.5 billion will be used to widen the road in Hisar district from Surewala Mod to the Punjab-Haryana border.
