REC signs agreement to run RDSS Scheme with Nagaland govt

To enhance the quality, reliability, and affordability of the power supply in the Nagaland region, REC and the state government have signed a contract to implement the Rural Electricity Distribution System Strengthening (RDSS) scheme. The agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials from both parties. REC is also a Maharatna company under the Ministry of Power. The RDSS program's objective is to develop an economically viable and operationally efficient distribution sector in rural areas so that customers can always get power.

The plan calls for upgrading power lines and installing new transformers and metres in order to improve the current distribution infrastructure.

The development of a dependable and sustainable power supply system that will benefit consumers in rural areas will advance thanks to this crucial step.

The RDSS scheme is being implemented as part of the Indian government's efforts to increase access to electricity in rural areas, and it is anticipated to benefit the state's economy by fostering economic growth and development.
