Rajasthan seeks bids for KUSUM Program-Eligible 452 MW solar projects

Under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) programme, the Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JDVVNL) has released seven tenders for the installation and commissioning of 452 MW of grid-connected solar power plants in various subdivisions of the Barmer Circle.

After the project's start of commercial operation, the winning bidder is responsible for its operation and upkeep for 25 years.

The projects will be created using the RESCO concept, or renewable energy service company. For all tenders, bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1 lakh/MW. Successful bidders are required to provide a performance bank guarantee for Rs 5 lakh/MW of the quoted capacity.

For each MW of the stated capacity, the project will cost $35 million per MW.

Within seven days of presenting the performance bank guarantee, a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years at the levelised tariff would be drafted between the bidder and the Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam.

Within nine months of the PPA's signature, the projects have to be commissioned.
