2023-06-05
Work on a multi-modal logistics hub (MMLH) and a multi-modal transport hub (MMTH) near Dadri and Boraki respectively is expected to commence by the end of this year in the Integrated Industrial Township in Greater Noida. This township is part of the flagship Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and aims to establish a futuristic smart industrial city with ready-to-use infrastructure for environmentally friendly industries.
The MMLH will cover an area of 823 acre and serve as a state-of-the-art facility for efficient freight handling facilitating the smooth transportation of goods and raw materials. The estimated cost for developing the logistics hub is Rs 70.34 billion. It will include advanced warehouses custom clearance points rail platforms cold storage facilities truck parking bays and cargo separation areas.
To oversee the project DMIC-IITGNL (Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida) a joint venture between DMIC and the Greater Noida Authority is seeking to hire a project consultant for the MMLH. The consultant will be responsible for preparing the project tender and monitoring its construction. The MMLH will be connected to the New Dadri Dedicated Freight Corridor station through a 3.5-km rail approach track. The detailed project report (DPR) is currently being prepared by IITGNL and a tender will be floated soon to initiate the work.
Similarly, MMTH, which will integrate a railway station an interstate bus terminus and a metro rail, is also in the process of hiring a general consultant. The detailed project report for the MMTH is nearing completion. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) and IITGNL have already granted approval for metro connectivity from the Depot station to the transport hub. The project now awaits approval from the state government.
