Haryana Pollution Board to Conduct Survey of Construction Sites

The survey is being conducted because only 5% of the large construction sites in Gurgaon are registered on the portal. This is despite the fact that it is mandatory for construction sites larger than 500 square meters to install PM2.5 and PM10 sensors that send live feed to the online portal.
The HSPCB has said that it will take action against projects that are found to be violating the norms. This could include stopping construction activities, imposing penalties, and prosecuting the developers in the environmental court.
The survey is part of Haryana's efforts to reduce dust pollution in the state. The government has also implemented a number of other measures, such as requiring construction sites to fence off the construction area with green sheets, sprinkle water, and cover vehicles carrying construction and demolition waste.
